so the co is in town...sorry i can't disclose much info....i haven't done anything wrong that warrants no longer serving as an ms....but the co is thinking of deleting me as an ms (my parents are aware)....i really hope he does as this will make my fade much more easier...... freedom is just around the corner i hope.... peace.

Update: The recommendation has been made for my deletion...but I won't celebrate until the offical announcement has been made!
@Quendi: Thanks for your comment..you're right, it's my life and I need to man up and cut ties...but I got to do it gradually since my hardcore family is still in and they're very emotional about the WTBS.

@Unconfused: I haven't been speaking up about what I'm learning about the WTBS....it's that as a MS, I haven't been "building up" the congregation because I spend a lot of time at my job...as time goes on, I know they're going to tell me that I can be considered to be an MS in the future again...but knowing what I now know...it's a definate NO!!! I know they'll pressure me to "make changes" so I can be more involved in the congregation, but I can't pretend for much longer that I'm a real JW...
I'm trying to position myself so that I step down as the CO and one of the elders suggested...when the announcement is made of my deletion I'm going to be very happy....may go in town for a drink after the announcement.

Glad your learning the real truth about the WTBS. Take it slow as others have mentioned...I'm in a similar position like you...I'm a current MS (although not for long) with an extremist JW mom. At this moment I'm working on stepping down as a MS to make things easier. I Know you haven't been an MS long, but if you can step down...go ahead...people may seem disappointed in your decision...but to hell with them!
With regards to Holy Spirit appointing people...it's all a joke...why would the Holy Spirit appoint people who have doubts or who would become appostates shortly thereafter?

i've been receiving very bitter messages from jws i know, mostly my mother, but also others that know how to contact me electronically.
sometimes i find myself mad at her, though not displaying it.
but i know it's really not her or my fathers fault.
I'd have to say that I'm bitter over the fact that a few old men at headquarters can be so involved in persons personal affairs...such as going to college among other things....dictating everything you do with your life...the watchtower study this past sunday almost made me puke...
My mum came in the truth before my dad...the lady who indoctrinated my mum was so darn persistent, it's unbeleivable...my family would've been perfect if not for the WTBS.
hi all, i have been a "lurker" here for some time and feel like i want to share my experience in the hope that it relieves me of dark thoughts i can't shake.
i was "brought into the truth" by a guy, he had to let me study with a girl of course but always had me ear marked to preach in bangladesh one day.
fyi this is a guy who was disfellwoshipped many times and once shaved his head and sent it to bethel apparently it's something to do with some form of repentance in the bible or something?
Welcome aboard Tamasin...sorry to hear about your experience with that guy, but glad you're no longer apart of the WTBS...it is true as you said that because of the WTBS it has ruined the possibility of having a relationship with God...because it's like starting all over again.

there are some major problems with the jws, doctrinally, socially, and organizationally.
from shunning to crazy elder bodies to guilt trips, there are many things that were really bad.
this thread is devoted to the small, insignificant things that just really really irked you.

I remember as a child when my family had to accomodate the CO for their visit...had to give up my room and go sleep on the sofa.
Because I'm single, if I were to invite a female/sister to the hall who they've never seen before (it could've been a family member from another area)...they automatically assume I'm dating someone...then the extremist elders would say it's not appropriate rubbish.
People didn't show up for their parts on the TMS and I'd have to substitute.
Wanted to stay home every Saturday to watch cartoon like any other normal kid...but had to be dragged out in FS.

I saw an elderly gentleman once with a sign "REPENT" nailed to a cross on the lawn in front of our assembly sight....the attendants and those driving by ignored him.
